Terms of use

By using Inkclip, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.

What the service is

Inkclip provides free tools that convert, resize, crop, trim, compress, caption, and otherwise edit GIFs and short video clips. Every tool runs in your browser, on your own device. There’s no account, no login, and no file upload to a server as part of how any tool works today.

Your files, your responsibility

Because every tool processes your file locally, Inkclip never receives, stores, views, or reviews any file you select. That also means you are solely responsible for having the right to use, edit, and process whatever file you choose to run through a tool here. This service doesn’t check that for you, and it can’t, since it never sees the file.

Don’t use these tools to process content you don’t have the right to use, or in a way that infringes someone else’s copyright or other rights. This isn’t a hosting or file-sharing service: nothing you process is stored, shared, or made available to anyone through Inkclip.

Acceptable use

Use the tools for their intended purpose: editing a clip or GIF you have the right to edit. Don’t:

  • Automate requests against the site in a way designed to overload it or work around its limits.
  • Attempt to interfere with, disable, or probe the security of the site or its infrastructure.
  • Use the site to process content that is illegal to possess or distribute in your jurisdiction.

About the auto-captioning tool

Captions generated automatically are produced by a speech-recognition model and may contain errors, especially with unclear audio, background noise, or speech in a language other than English. Review generated captions before relying on them or sharing them publicly. Inkclip doesn’t guarantee their accuracy.

No warranty

Inkclip‘s tools are provided free of charge, “as is,” with no guarantee that any tool will be available at any given time, free of errors, or fit for any particular purpose beyond its ordinary described use. We aim for accuracy and uptime but don’t promise either as a contractual guarantee.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Inkclip project, which runs Inkclip, isn’t liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or its tools, including any loss related to file processing results, downtime, or reliance on an automatically generated caption or transcript.

Advertising

Inkclip is supported by advertising served by Google. Using the site means ads may be shown alongside the tools; how that works, including consent and cookies, is described in the privacy policy.

Intellectual property

The design, text, and code that make up Inkclip are the work of the Inkclip project, except where a specific open-source library is credited (the tools are built on open-source encoding and decoding libraries; see the individual tool pages for what’s used). You retain all rights to any file you process here. Inkclip never acquires any rights to it, because it never receives a copy of it in the first place.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The “last updated” date below reflects the most recent change; continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
